Canine Distemper

Canine distemper is caused by a highly contagious virus. Puppies and dogs generally contract the virus through airborne particles or respiratory secretions from infected dogs. Infected dogs usually exhibit symptoms such as runny eyes, fever, nasal discharge, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and paralysis. It is often fatal.


 

Fortunately, an effective vaccine is available to protect your dog from this deadly disease. The canine distemper vaccine is considered a "core" vaccine and is recommended for all dogs.
